Thank you to everyone who sent messages asking if we made it through yesterday's storms ok. We are better than fine. Many of our fellow Alabamans, particularly in the Tuscaloosa area, are not. The block where Marcus and I spent countless hours during our grad school days has been reduced to a pile of rubble. Thousands are without power, water and shelter. Businesses are destroyed. People are missing and injured. I heard a mother on the radio this morning begging for help finding her college-aged daughter who has been missing since the tornado hit yesterday afternoon.
Please keep our state and its people in your prayers. That's what we need more than anything right now.
