Each day this week, I've documented my family's life here with words and pictures as a part of Adventuroo's A Week In My Life project. It's been such fun to share our world with all of you. If you'd like to see the whole week, click the home link up top and start reading!
Sunday! My director decided we'd start rehearsal an hour late on Sunday (11:00), which gave me a bit more time in the morning. I had hoped we'd all sleep in, especially since Dean had stayed up late again on Saturday night. Not so much. He came in yelling "HI!" at 6:30. I got him set up with a cup of milk and some blocks in his room, then went back to bed for a bit. he was finally having no more of that at 7:15 and came in and jumped on our bed. We all got up and headed down for pancakes and eggs.
Dean and I played toys for quite a while, and Marcus snuck in and scared us. I got showered and dressed and hit the road around 9:00. On Sundays, my local radio station plays an old recording of Casey Kasem's top 40. This Sunday was a random week in April of 1990. I enjoyed it more than I am comfortable admitting.
Yesterday was our first day rehearsing the FOURTEEN children in our cast. (FOURTEEN, in case you missed that.) I was struck with the realization that almost all their parents are younger than me, but that all their parents probably think I'm 20. Awesome. I've never been called, "sweetie" so much in my life.
We did what we call a straight-six on Sunday, which means we rehearse six straight hours with no meal break. We do take a 20 minute break so we can eat a little something and rest for a second. It was a marathon day, but I was so happy to be done by 5:00 instead of 7:00.
I got home a little before 6:30 to find Marcus cooking an awesome dinner. We had steak, roasted potatoes and a great salad. Dean had helped make the marinade and told me everything they'd put in it. We ate, then went down for snuggles on the couch. When we headed upstairs, we build a few creations out of Trio blocks, then read some stories. Dean was out by about 8:30, so I went downstairs to blog and Facebook for a while before bed.
Here are a few pictures of my Sunday:
Top: Building with Trio blocks. Dean likes to read the instructions to me. They are remarkably easy for a little guy to follow, as they are all numbers and pictures.
Bottom: My favorite Halloween socks.
Top left: Rehearsal studio, all set for the Fezziwig party.
Top Right: My monogrammed cooler, which contained my hummus and soy yogurt for my 20 minute break.
Bottom: A very blurry picture of a very pretty moon.
Top left: Our little hook-nosed pumpkin. We're going to make her a witch hat.
Top right: Dean has started eating weird things lately. He ate the bottom corner of his fruit snacks. WHY!?!??!
Bottom: One of the many carols in our show. This one may be my favorite. It always reminds me of the scene in Love Actually where Hugh Grant and his driver sing it and the little girls dance their faces off.
Thank you for reading about this week in our lives. I've enjoyed sharing it. Many thanks to Mel at Adventuroo for challenging all of us to document this week. I know this is something I'll look back on fondly.

Isn't it a beautiful week?! I am so happy I stuck it out and made it through. There were a few mornings when I went to blog and almost... didn't. Glad I did. And happy I got to be a fly on the wall in your life this week!!!
PS -- I totally googled Top 40 April 1990. I would've loved it too!!
