Each day this week, I'm documenting my life with pictures and words as a part of Adventuroo's Week In My Life event!
I'm getting this posted just under the wire on Saturday, y'all. It has been a BUSY couple of days. So, Friday was my first day of rehearsal for A CHRISTMAS CAROL. As I told you yesterday, I spent Thursday night at the company apartments. I got up at 7:25, only five minutes before my alarm was SUPPOSED to go off, but DID NOT go off, possibly because I set it for 7:20am. I got up and went to the bathroom and THAT is when I noticed I did not have a shower curtain. I experimented a bit and finally achieved the angle needed to A) shower myself and B) not flood the bathroom.
I dressed and left, running to Panera for a quick breakfast before work. My lovely assistants and I got our studio all set up, then the actors started to arrive.
Top right: My prompt book cover.
Bottom: Our supply crate.
For first rehearsal, we always do a "business" meeting at the top where we go through a lot of information, then do a read-through of the play. We spent a lot of our time on Friday working on music, as there are a lot of (wait for it) Christmas carols in the show! It was great to meet the new folks and even better to see some familiar faces.
When rehearsal was done, I hit the road for home. I talked to my dad on the phone most of the way and we shared some nice giggles. My parents sold their house this week and are moving into my grandma's house, so that's exciting for all of us. When I got home (with Taco Bell) I was greeted by a sweet little boy, a sweet kitty cat and a very sweet husband.
Top right: One of my favorite actors, James, in his "sun hat." That's what he calls it. I call it a cowboy hat.
Bottom left: Blurry Chutney.
Bottom right: Marcus.
Once we'd devoured our Taco Bell, we all played for a while, then went up and read lots of stories with Dean. I fell asleep in his bed at 9:20.
Oh! I had a nice surprise when I got home:
I wish I had more pictures of Marcus and Dean (really, of our whole day), but Friday was a busy one!
